Antenatal preparation
Both parents should attend as it is as important for your birth partner as it is for the mother.
Some people book both Antenatal classes and hypnobirthing.
If you book me as your doula the antenatal sessions are included in the price but the hypnobirthing is extra.
Antenatal Classes
2 x 3 hour sessions in person (usually in the comfort of your own home)
My antenatal preparation sessions cover everything you need to know to prepare for the birth of your baby, to what to expect in those first days and weeks when your bundle of joy arrives.
They will relieve anxiety you may have about the birth of your baby and fill you in on all those things that you don't know you don't know. it's basically the same as the hypnobirthing course but without the relaxation techniques and scripts, which aren't for everyone.......

Hypnobirthing Classes
2 x 3.5 hour sessions in person (usually in the comfort of your own home)
Are you anxious about birth, or have you had a previous traumatic birth. If so hypnobirthing will be really helpful. The name doesn't help, It's not the woo woo experience it sounds like!!!
My hypnobirthing course is a comprehensive antenatal programme which will fully prepare you for a calmer more enjoyable birth . Based on the KGHypnobirthing, accredited by the Royal College of Midwives, during the course we will cover the physiological of birth, the hormones, what happens to your body during labour and what you can do to ensure you have a calm, relaxed and empowering experience.
During or sessions we will cover;

Your fears or concerns about birth.

The difference between hypnotherapy and hypnobirthing.

How much your mind can effect your body during childbirth and ways you can ensure your mind stays calm keeping your body comfortable.

We will talk about how outside influences can effect you and ways both you and your partner can effect them.

We will talk about what actually happens to your body in labour so that you are fully prepared for every stage.

I will teach you relaxation techniques as well as things you can do in the months leading up to the birth to ensure it is as comfortable as possible.

We discuss how your partner can help you both leading up to and during the birth.

How you can work well with your medical team to ensure you have the best possible experience.

We will then go on to talk about the different stages of labour and what to do during each stage.

we will also watch a video of a KGHypnobirthing trained mum give birth to her baby.

As well as many scripts and relaxation techniques proven to enhance your birthing experience.

KG Hypnobirthing teacher training course are accredited by the Royal College of Midwives (RCM) because midwives and hospitals benefit from the more calm and straightforward births as a result of KG Hypnobirthing, with shorter labours and fewer interventions.
